CVE-2023-21826

Vulnerability in the Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics product of Oracle Food and Beverage Applications (component: Reporting). The supported version that is affected is 9.1.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via HTTPS to compromise Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics accessible data as well as unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics accessible data and unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of Oracle Hospitality Reporting and Analytics. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 7.6 (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:L/A:H).

Security Impact Summary

This vulnerability carries a HIGH severity rating with a CVSS v3.1 score of 7.6, indicating it can be exploited remotely over the network with relatively low complexity though user interaction is required requiring only low-level privileges . The vulnerability impacts confidentiality (data exposure), limited integrity, and availability (service disruption) for affected systems. Impacting 1 product from oracle organizations running these solutions should prioritize assessment and patching.

Historical Context

Reported in 2023, this vulnerability emerged during an era marked by increased sophistication in supply chain attacks, cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) security challenges. Security practices during this period emphasized zero-trust architectures, container security, and API protection.

How SecUtils Interprets This CVE

SecUtils normalizes and enriches National Vulnerability Database (NVD) records by standardizing vendor and product identifiers, aggregating vulnerability metadata from both NVD and MITRE sources, and providing structured context for security teams. For oracle's affected products, we extract Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) data, Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) classifications, CVSS severity metrics, and reference data to enable rapid vulnerability prioritization and asset correlation. This record contains no exploit code, proof-of-concept instructions, or attack methodologies—only defensive intelligence necessary for patch management, risk assessment, and security operations.
