Nextcloud Server is the file server software for Nextcloud, a self-hosted productivity platform, and Nextcloud Office is a document collaboration app for the same platform. Nextcloud Server 24.0.x prior to 24.0.8 and 25.0.x prior to 25.0.1, Nextcloud Enterprise Server 24.0.x prior to 24.0.8 and 25.0.x prior to 25.0.1, and Nextcloud Office (Richdocuments) App 6.x prior to 6.3.1 and 7.x prior to 7.0.1 have previews accessible without a watermark. The download should be hidden and the watermark should get applied. This issue is fixed in Nextcloud Server 25.0.1 and 24.0.8, Nextcloud Enterprise Server 25.0.1 and 24.0.8, and Nextcloud Office (Richdocuments) App 7.0.1 (for 25) and 6.3.1 (for 24). No known workarounds are available.
This vulnerability carries a LOW severity rating with a CVSS v3.1 score of 2.3, requiring local system access to exploit with relatively low complexity without requiring user interaction . The vulnerability impacts limited data confidentiality, for affected systems. Impacting 2 products from nextcloud, from nextcloud organizations running these solutions should prioritize assessment and patching.
Reported in 2023, this vulnerability emerged during an era marked by increased sophistication in supply chain attacks, cloud infrastructure vulnerabilities, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) security challenges. Security practices during this period emphasized zero-trust architectures, container security, and API protection.

SecUtils normalizes and enriches National Vulnerability Database (NVD) records by standardizing vendor and product identifiers, aggregating vulnerability metadata from both NVD and MITRE sources, and providing structured context for security teams. For nextcloud's affected products, we extract Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) data, Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) classifications, CVSS severity metrics, and reference data to enable rapid vulnerability prioritization and asset correlation. This record contains no exploit code, proof-of-concept instructions, or attack methodologies—only defensive intelligence necessary for patch management, risk assessment, and security operations.
